I was so sad to learn of Tony's untimely death. I went to High School with Tony. He was quite and unassuming, but kind and generous. He was nice to everyone and yes, as Ms Litton put it--he was a "hotty". He had a great sense of humor. I lost touch with him after High School. My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family. Sincerely, Berna Harris Hester

As I remember it, Tony was the youngest child in our neighborhood and he was lovingly known as "Toad Stool" (due to his short stature.) Many years later Tony, who was a Senior, was assigned to me as a Student Assistant at Blazer where I was teaching. It was such a surprise when he walked into my class. He was a tall, very handsome young man. He was such a wonderful helper. He had a great sense of humor, a calm personality, and the girls thought he was a "hotty." My thoughts and prayers are with you Gary, Carolyn, Robert, Rosemary, and Brad in your loss.

Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear about Tony and I hate that I did not know that he was ill when I was home in November. Moving away from the area does not keep my heart from being with all the friends and family I have there. It is impossible to see everyone and do everything I want to do when I am home so I do understand how so many people lose touch. Please keep my email address and communicate to me with yours and maybe we can catch up on our lives. Again, I am so sad over this loss to you and your family and I too feel the loss never to be able to see him again in this life but the joy will be there in heaven. Love to you, Rosemary and all the family.

To Gary and the Wright Family..... I am so very sorry and saddened to learn of the passing of Tony. I found out about Tony late yesterday evening. Gary, please forgive me for not being there with you today. Say hello to your lovely wife Jean. I will call you in a few days. I will leave you with this............. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Rev 21:4 God Bless You And Your Family H.F.Dixon

Thanks to each of you who posted condolences. Some have overwhelmed me. Brad, Tony loved you dearly and wants only the best for you. Tony was a caring brother to us. He was a true buddy to me as we talked regularly. He loved reunions and our families coming together. He insisted that they not stop. He anointed himself the family member who always saw that flowers were placed on family graves. He checked obits religeously and always ran names by me. Tony was Very competitive and played for the trophy. I want to posthumously award Tony the trophy for being #1 MOST STUBBORN and #2 MOST PRIVATE of the Wright Clan! (Some spouses might want to contest this) Tony, I love you and will miss you dearly. May God Bless You.

I remember Tony as the sweet little brother of Carolyn, my best friend on Hackworth Street. The Wrights were a great family; we shared many good times playing on the street, in our homes, and exploring our part of Ashland (Dead Man's Canyon comes to mind). I am so sorry, Carolyn, Gary, Robert and Rosemary, to learn about Tony's illness and too-soon death. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Greer Litton (Fox)

Tony has been in my prayers since Robert told me he was ill while we visited at the CP-1 reunion last summer. Since I played baseball for Mr. Wright, Tony's dad, for 6 summers and played against and with Robert from the 6th grade on. Plus I played baseball with Gary one year in High school. I have a soft spot for all the Wright family. I just want to express my sincere condolences to all of Tony's family on his passing. I know he will be missed, but always loved and remembered, by everyone who knew him.

I wish that I could be up there with everyone. Unfortunately, circumstances would not permit me to. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Wright family. Tony was a good man. We used to look forward to staying with him a few times a year. I know I loved those times. Thank you for your memorial Stephen. Hope you are doing well. Please send our love to your mom and brother. Tony is free of pain finally and looking down on everyone. Love you all and take care. Holly, Jason, Niko, and Mia

Dear Brad, I am sorry for your loss. Your father was a good man as I lived with him for 9 years. He loved you. Tony, as you know was very competitive and loved basketball and baseball. I remember when he coached my baseball teams for years he was firm and consistent. We always seemed to win most of our games. Tony was a walking encyclopedia when it dealt with basketball and baseball. It has been 10 years since he was my step-father and I still remember him telling me when I was 10 years old that you have to earn everything and nothing is ever given away. Another saying he always told me was,"No one remembers who came in second place." Brad, e-mail me. I still and always will consider you my friend and a step-brother that I shared a lot of fun times with. Gary and Robert, I send you my condolences and prayers for your loss. Tony was an honest man whom I respected. Tony always bragged to me about you,Gary. He would say, If you go to college like Gary, you can live on the beach. Also, he said you were a great basketball player. Robert, he always told me what a great athlete you were and how you two would help each other out when one of you needed help. He also cared deeply for his sisters. It was not Tony's style to show emotions, but I knew he loved all of you because on New Years he would be excited that all of you were coming. In 1998, Tony and I went our own directions as you know. I just wanted to say that Tony was a father to me when my real father failed me. We had our disagreements, but we both had our points. It is a sad night for me now as I just found out on 01-12-09. I will be thinking of you all. Sincerely, Steve Neese
