Elizabeth Lorraine Webb Lawson (1935-2009)

Elizabeth Lorraine Webb Lawson, 74, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday evening, April 8, 2009, in Kings Daughters Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 15, 1935, in Ashland, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Mattie Bessie Queen Webb.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers J.B. Webb and Chan Roy Webb; sister Catherine Blevins; and two grandchildren, Melissa Dae Kennedy and Wesley Edward Lawson.

She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church.

Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, William Lawson of Ashland; two sons, William Ronald Lawson and Donald Martin Lawson and girlfriend Christina Leachman, all of Ashland; daughter Constance Darlene Reffitt and husband Ted of Ashland; brother John Wesley Webb Jr. of Flatwoods, Ky.; sisters Lillian Mae Swann of Ashland, Mattie Georgene Gardner and husband Richard of Globe, Ky., Genie Ann Clay of Ashland and Donna Rae Wilcox and husband Robert of Flatwoods; six grandchildren, Donald Martin Lawson II, Lisa Ann McComas, Tiffany Arnett, Dustin Hutchinson, Charles Lee Martin Lawson and Chandler Loren Lawson; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis Arnett, Nicklaus Stamper, Darren McComas, Melody McComas and Mary Ann McComas.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Joed Rice. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 10, 2009, at the funeral home.

Contributions may be sent to the Melissa Dae Kennedy Memorial Scholarship, c/o Ohio University Southern.

My Grandmother was a wonderful Women god bless her and all the family Love her to death and miss her lots, its just not the same with out her here, well i have been told this morn over a birth and celebrate a death but its hard to do.

Please know my thoughts are with you. "Mom" Lawson was such a special person. She had both a tender heart and an iron will! I will always remember her wild sense of humor and fierce love for her family. She truly took me in as one of her own....and I'll never forget that. I loved her.
