Paul W. Williams, 82, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Williams was born June 29, 1920, in Ashland, a son of the late George Tom ``G.T." Sr. and Dovia Brown Williams.
He was retired from GT Williams & Sons Drilling Contractors of Ashland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he received the World War II Victory Ribbon, American Area Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, and was a charter member of the 13th Street Baptist Church.
Paul and his wife, Virginia M. Rayburn Williams, had been married for 64 years.
Other survivors include one son, Paul Richard Williams of Ashland; two daughters, Sharon Gayle Grizzle and Veronica Lynn Hickman, both of Ashland; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Henry T. Mahan. Burial will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 6 to 9:30 tonight at the funeral home.
