Audrey Martin Ballard, 80, of Ashland, passed away on New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2002, having been confined to the Carter Nursing Home in Grayson for the past several years.
The daughter of Wilbur N. and Bonnie Martin of Ashland, Audrey was the flower girl with the Ashland High School Band, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashland and Order of Eastern Star.
She worked for the telephone company and Steckler's Men's Shop, in addition to being a wonderful homemaker, raising two boys.
She enjoyed golf and square dancing and was the former wife of Arnold D. ``Bay" Ballard, deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Kent Ballard of Waterford, Va., and Nick Ballard of Louisville, Ky., and their extended families, which include one grandson and three granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the John Steen Funeral Home on Central Avenue in Ashland and services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
