William E. "" Hackworth, 68, of Catlettsburg, Ky., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in Oakmont Manor Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Hackworth was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Ashland, a son of the late Orla and Elizabeth Kirk Hackworth.
Mr. Hackworth was a former deputy clerk in the Boyd County Property Valuation Office under Pete Wonn and was retired from Arch Coal Inc.
He was of the Methodist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Hackworth also was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Rice Hackworth, in 1969, and a sister, Betty Fuller.
Survivors include a brother, Frank and Shirley Hackworth of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; a sister, Mary and Ray VanHoose of Ashland; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel, by Ralph Holbrook. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
