Opal Bartee Lee, 89, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Lee was born Jan. 23, 1912, at Hitchins, Ky., a daughter of the late James Henry and Susan Curnutte Bartee.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude F. Lee, in 1957.
She was a member of Ashland First Church of God.
Surviving are a son, Joseph M. ``Rocky" Lee of Ashland; two daughters, Judy Lee (Jack) Creech and Susan Lee Griggs, both of Ashland; six grandchildren, Brant Creech, Joe Creech and Halee Griggs, all of Ashland, Jacque Creech Arthur of Findlay, Ohio, Matthew Lee of Atlanta, Ga., and Claudia Lee of Port de Paix, Haiti; and a great-grandchild, Jonathan Arthur of Findlay.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by the Rev. Harley Johnson and the Rev. Tom Pelt. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 24, 2002, at the funeral home.
