Thelma W. Topping, 99, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in Oakmont Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Topping was born March 13, 1902, in St. Albans, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles F. and Florence McCalister White.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy B. Topping, and a daughter, Helen Bailey of Richmond, Ky.
She was owner of Topping Christian Store in Ashland and a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Donald M. Topping of Honolulu, Hawaii; six grandchildren, Steven Bailey of Sterling, Va., Jan Dominey of Richmond, Va., Leslie Jensen of Riverside, Calif., Dee Johnson of Spokane, Wash., Miles Topping of Honolulu and Lee Topping of New York, N.Y.; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by the Rev. Dale Carden. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
