Virginia Webb Simmons, 78, formerly of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Highland Health Care Center in Fort Thomas, Ky., following an extended illness.
Mrs. Simmons was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Monroe E. and Sophia Thompson Webb.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are four sons, Gary Simmons of St. Petersburg, Fla., Bruce Simmons of Tampa, Fla., Greg Simmons of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brian Simmons of Covington, Ky.; a brother, Jennings Webb of Glendale, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Shaun Michael Simmons and Eric Mathew Simmons, both of Wurtland, Ky., and Jeffery Bryan Simmons and Karen Elizabeth Simmons, both of Cincinnati.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Quentin Lockwood. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
