Irene Elizabeth Carr, 87, of Argillite, Kentucky, formerly of Smith Branch Road, Greenup, Kentucky went to with the Lord Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Best Care Nursing Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Mrs. Carr was born June 24, 1924 in Red Creek, WV a daughter of the late Jasper and Julia Turner Johnson.
She was a member of the Smith Branch Church of God.
During WWII she worked as Rosie the Riveter for Maryland Eastern Aircraft in Baltimore, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis W. Carr

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Rev. J. R. Asberry and Sister Virginia Asberry. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
