Roger Hopkins Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1958 - 2012 Roger Hoppy Hopkins 1958 - 2012 Roger Dean Hoppy Hopkins, 54, of Chinns Branch Road, Wurtland, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home. Mr. Hopkins was born February 23, 1958 in Ashland, Kentucky a son of the late Aster and Anna Marie Nichols Hopkins. He was also preceded in death by a brother Larry Aster Hopkins He was a self-employed mechanic and loved working on and rebuilding classic cars. He loved music and was a member of The Silver Strings Band. He is survived by Two sons Mark Hopkins Greenup, Kentucky Jonathan Hopkins Summit, Kentucky Two daughters Sarah (Gideon) Page Russell Tiffany (Brandon) Maddux Summit One sister Roseanne Prince Louisa, Kentucky Sister-In-Law Betty Jean Hall Hopkins Greenup Eight grandchildren Girlfriend Karen Melinda Neace Wurtland Many Loving family members and friends who will greatly miss him. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Chris Morris and his father-in-law, Les Grubb. Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery in Oldtown, Kentucky Visitation will be from 6:00 - 9:00 Wednesday and one hour before the service on Thursday. Condolences may be sent to reedfuneralhome.us

My dearest daddy...its so hard to beleive that you are gone...you will never know how loved and cherished you were. I hope I make you proud and know i will never forget the things in life you taught me. In high school we rode the bus together nearly every day. Hoppy could always make us laugh-sometimes we just sang to the radio on the bus while he played air guitar. He was always nice and kind.I am so sorry for your loss he will be so missed.
