1928 -2012

Willie J. Scaggs, 83, of Whetstone Road, Greenup, Kentucky, passed away, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Scaggs was born September 19, 1928 in Argillite, Kentucky a son of the late W.B. and Mary Stafford Skaggs.

He was a retired Carmen from CSX Railroad

A U.S. Army Korean War Veteran

Member of the Ashland American Legion

Ashland Eagles

Life member of the Greenup VFW Post 1168

He enjoyed farming, fishing, trapping and hunting.

He was also preceded in death by one brother Ernest Scaggs

Two sisters Ethel Darby

Glennah Womack

He is survived by his wife Martha Lowe Scaggs

Two sons Paul Eddie (Denise) Scaggs Greenup

Rick (Jamie) Scaggs Greenup

Two brothers Elmer Scaggs Baltimore, Maryland

Harlen Scaggs Greenup

Two Sisters Mabel Leuze Sebring, FL

Ruby Evelyn Skaggs Glen Burnie, Maryland

Three grandchildren Mary Ann (Coron) Tsurara Fort Campbell KY

Ben (Olivia) Scaggs Greenup

Sarah (Clarence) Frasure Greenup

Three great grandchildren Abigail Scaggs Faryn Scaggs Hannah Frasure

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, June 15, 2012 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Bill Oakes.

Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, Greenup County, Kentucky with military graveside rites conducted by the James L. Flannery American Legion Post 276, South Shore, Kentucky.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday and one hour before the funeral on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Community Hospice, Ashland, Kentucky
