Martha Walton
1922 -2012
Martha B. Walton, 90, of Raceland, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
Martha was born April 17, 1922 in Greenup, Kentucky a daughter of the late Morris and Lucy Chillison Black.
She was a retired Elementary school teacher with 35 years of service to Harlan, Kentucky, Chicago, Illinois, and Pomona, California. She was certified to teach in several states and held a National Teachers Certificate. She also worked for Whitney Young Sr.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenup.
She was preceded in death by her
first husband Lawrence Williams
Second Husband William Walton
1 sister Nora Jean Black
She is survived by
1 daughter Elizabeth Libby Williams Raceland, KY
Several cousins and a host of close friends and church family
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, August 4, 2012 at The First Baptist Church of Greenup by Dr. Tom Melvin. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Kentucky.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until services time at 11:00 am.
Reed Funeral Home in Greenup is in charge of arrangements.
