Arthur Boggs Sr. Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1914 - 2013 Arthur Boggs Sr. 1914-2013 Arthur Boggs Sr, 99, of Argillite, Kentucky passed away, Monday, July 8, 2013 at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland.. Mr. Boggs was born May 24, 1914 in Greenup, Kentucky, a son of the late Henderson and Sarah Morris Boggs. Mr. Boggs attends Lloyd Community Baptist Church Retired from C&O Railroad/Raceland Car Shop. He owned Boggs Grocery in Argillite for several years. He loved to hunt, fish, and trap. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by His wife Effie Stafford Boggs Three sons John H. Boggs Robert Boggs Paul Boggs One daughter Beulah McCarty He is survived Two sons Bertis (Mary Nadine)Ray Boggs Argillite, KY Arthur (Kathryn) Boggs Jr. Argillite, KY Three Daughters Alice Burgess Greenup, KY Shirley (Joe) Carr South Shore, KY Bertha (Patton Eugene) May Argillite, KY 23 grandchildren 18 Great Grandchildren 4 Great Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Reed Funeral Home by Pastor Joe Carr. Burial will be in the McGuire Cemetery, Greenup Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Wednesday and one hour before the funeral on Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.us

A note of thanks to my Uncle Art. You taught me so many things about nature and it has shaped who I am. I remember seeing my first flying squirrel and running to you to ask what it was. You could always answer my many questions about plants, animals and especially dowsing. I loved our visits together. I have told many of your stories to my kids and grandkids. You will always live on through those whose lives you have touched. This quote by Emerson reminds me of you, Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
