Aleck Dean Jr. Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1935 - 2013 Aleck Dean Jr. 1935  2013 Aleck Dean Jr., 78 of Danleyton, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at his home. Mr. Dean was born February 16, 1935 in Danleyton, a son of the late Aleck Dean Sr. and Bartram Dean Collier. He was a retired crane operator for Armco Steel in Ashland, Kentucky and was owner of Deans Water Conditioning. He was a member of Danleyton Baptist Church. He sang with the musical group Dean and Friends and was a volunteer at nursing homes and senior citizen centers for many years. He was preceded in death by one sister Ella Louise Collier He is survived by His wife Jewell Brown Dean 3 sons Ricky Lee (Cheryl) Dean Greenup, KY Terry (Selma) Dean Ironville, KY Christopher Aleck Dean Ironton, Ohio 3 brothers Jimmy (Mary) Collier Load, KY Roger (Lisa) Collier Load, KY Bobby (Cathy) Collier Load, KY 1 sister Delores Hess Cannonsburg, KY 6 Grandchildren 6 Great- Grand childern Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Mike Hambrick. Burial will be in the Danleyton Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00  8:00 pm and one hour before the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Just learned of Mr. Dean's passing and wanted the family to know what a blessing he was to our family. We didn't know him personally, but met him 17 yrs. ago after the birth of our daughter. We were desperately in need of a water softener because of having bad iron water. With very little money in our pockets and no credit, my husband and I took a chance by visiting Mr. Dean in hopes of making a purchase in the near future. That day, by our word with $50 down and a promise of $100/month, Mr. Dean allowed us to take the much needed softener home with us! To this day, we are still using the same softener, all because of Mr. Dean's generosity! We will never forget his kindness! Our prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time!
