Mary Louise Martin Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1958 - 2014

Mary Louise MartinMary Louise (Felty) Martin was granted her angel wings and went home to be with Our Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Mary had touched throughout her very memorable life. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life.

Mary was born January 25, 1958, in Russell, KY. She graduated from Greenup County High School in 1976. She was one of two children born to Ricca Jane (Snoody) Felty of Greenup, KY. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Jarvey Eugene Felty, Sr.

Mary is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 35 years, Pastor Kenneth Kirby Martin Jr,of Greenup, KY; three sons, Pastor Kenneth (Shay) Martin III of South Shore, KY, Kevin (Kristin) Martin of Greenup, KY and Kyle Martin of Greenup, KY and one daughter Deborah (Ben) Martin Tibbitts of Ashland, KY; one brother Jarvey (Mary Etta) Eugene Felty Jr. of Grey, TN; six grandchildren, Ross Skeens, Rylee Mitchell, Samuel Tibbitts, MyKenah Martin, Sebastian Tibbitts, Boone Martin and Kevin Martin, Jr.; and a host of many family and friends.

Mary had an unwavering faith in God. Mary was a charter member of The Lloyd Church of the Nazarene in Greenup, KY, where she served faithfully in many roles and leadership for over 30 years including Women's Ministry President, Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, lead piano player, singer and choir member. Her biggest contribution was the lives that Mary touch while being over the church nursery.

Mary was a Mary Kay consultant for over 18 years and loved everything about it. She was also employed with Steve Logan Construction and Metal Sales as a secretary.

Mary was a proud and active member of Marine Moms while her son Kevin faithfully was serving our country in the Marine Corps. Her interests included spending time with her church family and friends, playing the piano, and crocheting. While her sons were growing up, her passion and time was spent cheering them on at the baseball field where she spent countless hours. Mary enjoyed playing and spending time with her precious grandkids that brought her so much joy.

Mary has touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 5:00-9:00 pm at the Lloyd Church of the Nazarene, 157 Ohio River Road, Greenup, KY, 41144 and One hour before the service on Monday at the church. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held the following day at 11:00 am, also at the Lloyd Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, Greenup County, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Youth Building Fund, c/o Lloyd Church of the Nazarene, 157 Ohio River Road, Greenup, KY, 41144; or the Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101.
