1946 - 2002

Narvel Howard "Shug" Foster II, age 56, of Gallipolis, died Monday evening October 21, 2002 at Holzer Medical Center. Born May 23, 1946 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Dr. Narvel Howard Foster and the late Kate Miller Foster. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife Pamela Jo Mead Foster.

"Shug" owned and operated Fosters General Store in Rio Grande for many years. He later worked for the Holley Brothers Construction Company.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a member of the following organizations, Patriot Masonic Lodge #496, The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, VFW #4464 and The Vietnam Veterans of American.

He is survived by: 4 Children: Robert Foster of Gallipolis, Joe (Melinda) Foster of Gallipolis, Howard Foster III of Rio Grande, and Amee (Dean) Rees of Rio Grande.

Grandchildren: Megan, Mandy, and Morgan Foster, Taylor and Olivia Rees.

Brother: Jim (Pat) Foster of Newark, OH P> Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday October 25, 2002 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9 PM.

Masonic services will be conducted at 8:30 PM. Thursday at the funeral home by Patriot Masonic Lodge #496. Military flag presentation will be conducted at the graveside by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.

Pall Bearers will be: Steve Evans, John Paul Holley, Doug Fields, Dean Rees, Bill Morton, Stan Evans, Matt Foster, and Bruce Gabriel.

In lieu of flowers a fund is being established in Shug's name to benefit the Veterans of Gallia County, contributions can be sent to the Ohio Valley Bank 416 West College Ave. Rio Grande, OH 45674.
