Hoadley Garlic Jr. age 81, of Gallipolis, died Saturday March 1, 2003 at his residence. Born June 16, 1921 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Hoadley and Julia M. Sheets Garlic. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a daughter Beverly Garlic, a grandson Brett Ramey, and a brother Max Garlic.
He retired from the Ohio Operating Engineers, and was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, the DAV, and was a lifetime member of the Ohio Operating Engineers.
He is survived by: Wife: Susie Sibley Garlic who he married October 28, 1920 in Ashland, KY.; Son: Roger (Darlene) Garlic of Gallipolis; 4 Grandchildren: Tracy (Chris) Brill of Lebanon, OH, Tony Garlic of Gallipolis, Chad Speirs of Burband, CA, and Brandon Speirs of Burbank, CA; Brother: Frnaklin (Virginia) Garlic of Crown City; Sister: Helen Britton of McArthur; Also survived by several nieces.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday March 5, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastors Jim Lusher and Gary Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-9 P.M. Military funeral honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.
Pallbearers will be: Jerry Davis, Jack Sheppard, Louie Bodimer, Lee Holcomb, Matt Saunders, and Adrian (Buddy) Haner.
