Jessie Mildred Lemon, age 89, of Gallipolis, died Monday evening March 10, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born August 17, 1913 in Gallia County she was the daughter of the late Hamilton L. and Gertrude Lewis. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Homer Virgil Lemon, and by 2 sisters; Corrine Day and Anna Waugh. Jessie worked at the Gallipolis State Institute before moving to Columbus, where she was an LPN at athe Columbus State Hospital from which she retired. After retirement she returned to Gallipolis.
She is survived by: Son and Daughter in law: Lewis Garland and Linda Joyce Lemon of Athens, Alabama; Daughter: Virgie Louisx of St. Petersburg, FL; 3 Grandchildren; 1 Step Grandchild; 4 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 15, 2003 at Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Parkinsons Disease Foundation 710 West 168th St. New York, New York 10032, or the The Alzheimers Disease Foundation 1009 Duquesne Blvd. Duquesne, PA 15110. Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
