David Auston Simpkins, age 73, of Gallipolis, died Wednesday March 27, 2003 at the Scenic Hills Nursing Center. Born November 12, 1929 in Jackson County, Ohio he was the son of the late Lewis and Editha Fife Simpkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded by 8 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 daughters Patricia Marie and Dorothy Carol Simpkins.
David was a retired employee of the Gallipolis Reduction Company.
He is survived by 2 Sons: Joseph David Simpkins, of Gallipolis; and John Daniel Simpkins, of Gallipolis; 1 Daughter: Mary Joyce Wright, of Gallipolis; 9 Grandchildren; 3 Brtohters: Ed and Harry Simpkins, of Gallipolis and Harold Conward Simpkins of Wayne County, WV.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday March 30, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
