Evelyn Louise (Raines) Buttrick, age 55, of Crown City, died Sunday April 6, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born March 9, 1948 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Lee and Macil Birchfield Raines of Scottown. In addition to her father she was preceded by a brother; Birl Clayton Raines.
Evelyn was a full-time mother and homemaker. She attended the Good Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother she is survived by: Husband: James W. Buttrick of Crown City; 2 Sons: James W. Buttrick and Homer Saunders, both of Crown City; 3 Daughters: Debra J. Smith of Crown City, Kimberly Shaffer of Bidwell, and Samantha Buttrick of Crown City; 4 Grandchildren: Michael and Audrey Smith, Krista Poff, and Kalib Shaffer; 3 Sisters: Betty Jo Simms of Crown City, Gladys 'Opal' Bowyer of Crown City, and Wanda Garnes of Gallipolis; 2 Brothers: Jerry Raines and Gary Raines both of Crown City.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday April 10, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Matt Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Dickey Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-9 P.M.
