Mary Elizabeth Wray, age 81, of Crown City, died Sunday morning May 4, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington. Born October 8, 1921 in Ohio Township, Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late James G. and Elizabeth Northup Waugh. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Thurman A. 'Newt' Wray who she married December 9, 1939 and who preceded her February 15, 1987. Also preceded he are 4 Brothers and 1 Sister.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Church.
She is survived by: 2 Sons: Harold Wray of Addison; and Donald (Reginga) Wray of Crown City; 1 Daugher: Liz (Richard) Roach of Gallipolis; Charles Barry and Genevieve Hall both of Crown City who were raised in the home; 8 Grandsons, 2 Great Granddaughters, and 1 Great Grandson; 1 Brother: Harold Waugh of Enka Candaler, South Carolina; 3 Sisters: Alma Clarke of Honea Path, North Carolina; Juanita Craig of Crown City; and Jewell Halley of Porter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May 7, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-9 P.M.
