Blanche L. Canaday, age 91, of Gallipolis, died Wednesday June 25, 2003 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born October 21, 1911 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Naaman and Anna G. Switzer Canaday Jr. In addition to her parents she was preceded by 4 Brothers: Golden R., Cassius M., Delmar A., and Marshall F. Canaday.; 2 Sisters: Edna V. Niday and Mary L. Bailey.
Blanche was a 1930 graduate of Gallia Academy High School, and was a retired employee of Kroger's, where she worked for 36 years. She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, and a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local #400.
She is survived by: Son: Ronald K. (Audrey) Canaday of Gallipolis; 2 Grandsons: Robert E. Gordon and John C. Gordon; 3 Great Grandchildren: Jennifer D. Gordon, Brian Gordon, and Nathan Gordon; 1 Brother: Gerald B. Canaday of Flint, Michigan; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 28, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-9 P.M.
