Iva Arvilla Johnson, age 91, of Crown City, died Thursday June 26, 2003 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born January 12, 1912 in Clay Township, (Bladen Community) Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma Williams Swain. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Ralston L. 'Jack' Johnson, by 5 Sisters, 3 Brothers, 2 Granddaughters, 1 Grandson, and by a Daughter in law, Marge Johnson.
She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by: 5 Children: Mabel (Harold) Davis of Crown City, Rick (Patrice) Johnson of Crown City, Kay (George) Triplett of Crown City, Virgil (Phyllis) Johnson of Gallipolis, and James Johnson of Desden, Ohio; 14 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; and 3 Great Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Laura Jackson of Springfield, Ohio; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 29, 2003 at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home from 5-9 P.M. and at the church on Sunday one hour prior to services.
