Gerald Rdwin 'Doc' Walter, age 59, of Ingalls Road, Gallipolis passed away Sunday July 6, 2003 in the emergency room at Holzer Medical Center. He was born September 15, 1943 in Gallia County, son of Harry 'Bill' Walter of Northup and Gladys Randolph Walter of Gallipolis. He had formerly worked at G.D.C. from 1966 to 1983. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Halley on October 18, 1978 at her parents home. In addition to his parents and his wife he is survive by one daughter Elizabeth (Greg) Thivener of Gallipolis, one son Gerald E. Walter Jr. of Washington Court House, one Granddaugher, Katlin Thivener, one Grandson Gerald Edwin Walter III, one Sister, Betty (Melvin) Halley of Gallipolis, one Brother, Billy Lee Walter of Gallipolis, two half Sisters, Rachael Saunders of Gallipolis, and Clar Belle Beaver of Gallipolis, Father and Mother in law, J.W. Halley of Tennessee and Norma Halley of Crown City, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death were one infant sister, one son, Jason Lee Walter, Grandparents, John and Martha (Brown) Walter, and Charles and Lydia Randolph.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday July 10, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-9 P.M.
