Helen Elizabeth McHenry, age 95, of Gallipolis, 'Went to be with the Lord" Monday July 7, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born March 10, 1908 in Marvel, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Leota Ann Skaggs Cole. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Earl W. McHenry who she married Sept. 26, 1931 in Fayetteville, W.V., by a son Robert Lee McHenry, a daughter, Freda Mae McHenry, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church.
She is survived by 6 Children: Roy Gene (Gloria) McHenry of Trinity, NC; Maxine (Paul) Skidmore of Asheboro, NC; Nadine (Harold) Clark of Archdale, NC; Russell Earl McHenry of Walkertown, NC; Tommy Shearl (Patty Ann) McHenry of Kernersville, NC; and JoAnn (Bill) Davis of Gallipolis; 18 Grandchildren; 34 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; 3 Step Grandchildren; and 4 Step Great Grandchildren; Brother: Harold Cole of Anstead, WV; 3 Sisters: Nell Eads, Inez Eads, and Mabel Sims all of Anstead; Special friend and Caregiver: Kyong Queen.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday July 9, 2003 at Elizabeth Chapel Church with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
