Thomas Eugene Wood, age 74, of Patriot, died Thursday August 28, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born August 12, 1929 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Nevin H. and Lenora Root Wood. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a sister JoAnn Miller.
He was a retired employee of AT&T in Columbus, and a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by: Wife: Joanna Holbrook Wood; Former Wife: Else Buegge Wood of Columbus; 4 Daughters: Patricia (Fred) Kettering of Wimauma, FL, Cathy (Skid) Thomason of Westerville, Tony (John) Dumbach of Vienna, MO, and Brenda (Andy) Fowler of Westerville. 10 Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Eileen Lowder of Gallipolis; and Helen (Elva) Lowder of Kettering; 1 Brother: Harland (Juanita) Wood of Gallipolis; Close Friend: John Guthrie of Vinton, and a Specail thanks to his Nephew Robert Wood.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday September 2, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home in Gallipolis. Burial will follow in Old Pine Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday form 6-9 P.M. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.
