Esther Rebecca Luman, age 93, of Patriot, died Sunday September 7, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born October 2, 1909 in Walnut Township, Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late John Fletcher Neal and the late Rebecca Ellen Pyles Neal. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Roland Edgar Luman, who she married March 14, 1939 and who preceded her August 5, 1991, and by a daughter Carolyn Sue Luman who preceded her on August 12, 2002. Also preceding her are 2 brothers; Aldon and Glen Neal; a 1/2 brother Marcus Neal, and two 1/2 sisters, Ruth Sherman and Betha Grimes. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son: Donald Luman of Patriot, and by several sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 11, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Jane Ann Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Tyn Rhos Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-9 P.M. Pallbeares will be: Leon Jeffers, Keith Carter, Richard Neal, Jim Ehman, Kevin Mannon, and Lloyd Myers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Earl Neal and Charles Luman.
