Opal D. 'Tootie' Swindler, age 87, of Crown City, passed away Wednesday evening, November 12, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born February 9, 1916 in Detroit, MI. She was the daughter of the late Romula nd Roxie J. Cornell Patterson. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Frank B. Swindler, by 2 Sisters, and by 1 Brother. She was a homemaker and attended various area churches.
She is survived by: 2 Sons: Jim (Connie) Swindler of Crown City and Norman (Vicki) Swindler of Thurman; 4 Grandchildren: Amber (Cole) Bartrum of Gallipolis, Nathan (Jencie) Swindler of Columbus, Jonathan Swindler of Crown City and Judson Swindler of Crown City; 2 Great Grandchildren: Tianna and Colton Bartrum; 2 Sisters: Edna Mae Notter of Blacksburg, Virginia and Roxie Belle Williams of Barberton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 16, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Garland Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-9 P.M.
Pallbearers will be: Nathan Swindler, Jonathan Swindler, Scott Wright, Cole Bartrum, Judson Swindler, and B. J. Cox.
