Mary Mildred Wood, age 81, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Gallia County, died Saturday November 22, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Port Charlotte. Born February 3, 1922 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Evie and Tressie Baker Green. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband James Allen Wood, and by a brother Joe Green.
Mary was a retired beautician and a member of Salem Baptist Church. She also attended Nebo Church.
She is survived by: Daughter: Donna (James) Travis of Port Charlotte; Sone: Leo Carpenter of Patriot; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 29, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Rev. Kathryn Loxley officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 P.M.
