Gary Alan Layne, age 58, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday March 23, 2004 at his residence. Born December 1, 1945 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Harry Kenneth and Mary Temessee Layne. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict, and a retired State Employee.

He is survived by: Wife: Doris Ellen Cartwright Layne of Gallipolis; Daughter: Jennifer Huebner of Coshocton; Stepdaughter: Brenda Fry of Gallipolis; 3 Grandchildren: Brandy Fry, Jonathon Huebner, and Christopher Huebner; Great Grandchild: Aiden Grimes; and Brother: Richard Layne of Obetz.

A Memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday April 3, 2004 at Mound Hill Cemetery, with Todd Bowers officiating. Military Funeral Honors will be presented by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.
