Lovina Caroline Swisher, age 84, of Thurman, died Sunday morning May 9, 2004 at her residence. Born October 13, 1919 in Meigs County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd E. and L. Ethel Diehl Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband John W. Swisher, by a Brother John F. Thomas; and by 2 Sisters: Mary Elizabeth Thomas and Edith Mae Thomas.
Lovina was a member of the Vinton Chapter of Eastern Star, Centerville Grange, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Church of Christ in Columbus. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by Son: Donald Swisher of Thurman; Daughter: Dorothy Evelyn (Richard) Sechright of Sunbury; Sister: Mildred (Clyde) Donahue of Vinton; 7 Grandchildren: Kay (Rick) Holley of Buchannon, WV, John (Sand) Swisher of Wheelersburg, David (Toni) Swisher of Vancouver, WA, Ross (Shelley) Swisher of Bidwell, Rita (Jeff) Duncan of Columbus, Jennifer (Jeff) Clark of Cleveland, and Linda (Jeff) Lentz of Indonesia; 14 Great Grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday May 11, 2004 at Campaign Cemetery, with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. There will be no visitation. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
