Glenn Orven Baird, age 84, of Gallipolis, died Monday May 31, 2004 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. Born August 26, 1919 in Middleport, OH. He was the son of the late Ira Baird and the late Alice Jones Baird Gaffney. In addition to his parents he was preceded by brothers, Henry, Oscar, Harry, and Raymond Baird, by a sister Garnet Baird, by a 1/2 brother Gerald Baird, and by a grandson and a granddaughter.

Glenn was a World War II Army Veteran, and a retired mechanic. He was a member of the Church of God on Garfield Ave. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #27.

He is survived by his Wife: Earnestine Fraley Baird who he married July 22, 1941 in Kanauga; 5 Children: Rebecca A. (John) Pasquale of Gallipolis, Donna J. (Willie) McKinney of Crete, Illinois, Rondald O. (Phyllis) Baird of Buford, Georgia, Cindy Baird of Gallipolis, and Kinberly S. (Gene) Bates of Coalton; 16 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild; 1 Sister: Ada Denney of Gallipolis; 1/2 Brother: Luther Baird of Columbus; 1/2 Sisters: Hazel Pendleton of Columbus, and Juanita Shumaker of Columbus; 1 Sister-in-law: Madge Baird of Gallipolis; Pinkies Buddy: Don Baird of Gallipolis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday June 3, 2004 at the Church of God on Garfield Ave. with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Church of God Building Fund.

Andy and family: Am very sorry for your loss of Popps. It is a hard thing to lose a grandparent you loved so dearly. I do not have words to ease the pain of loss. But, know I love you. Aunt Denise
