Richard Gene Woodyard, age 70, of Crown City, died Thursday at Holzer Medical Center. Born on August 3, 1933 in Gallia County, Ohio son of the late Walter and Hazel Brumfield Woodyard. In addition to his parents he was preceded by 1 sister, Hildred Caldwell, and 3 brothers, George, Hollis and Harlow Woodyard. He retired from Barney & Channey as a Inspector and Federal Glass. He was a Army Veteran and belong to Eagles, VFW, and American Legion.
He is survived by: 1 Brother: Walter Woodyard Jr. of Crown City; 2 Sisters: Tressie Joann Jewell of Columbus, and Pat Rehl of Galloway, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday July 5, 2004 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Crown City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 P.M. on July 4, 2004. Military Funeral Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.
