Ruth Kathleen Bevan Bennett, age 78, of Gallipolis, died Saturday morning August 21, 2004 at her residence. Born December 14, 1925 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Butler and Pluma Fellure Bevan. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Chester Bennett, a daughter, Louise Gamble, 2 sisters, Melva Sheets and Cornelia Brumfield, 3 brothers, Asa, Charles, and Kenneth Bevan, and by 1 grandchild.
Ruth retired in 1981 from the Gallipolis Developmental Center where she worked in the Laundry Department.
She is survived by: 3 Children: Judy Ross of Patriot, Roger (Joyce) Bennett of Gallipolis, and Tutty (Newt) Ice of Athens; 8 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 6 Step Grandchildren; and 3 Step Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother: Blaine Bevan of Johnstown; 1 Sister: Lillie Williams of Patriot; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday August 23, 2004 at Centenary Cemetery with Rev. Rick Barcus officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Holzer Hospice. Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
