Billy Snow Board, age 78, of Gallipolis, died Thursday morning August 26, 2004 at University Hospital in Columbus. Born December 25, 1925 in Oak Hill, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Willam and Pearl Board. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a son in law, Earl Myers, and by a brother in law, Burt Purdy.
Billy was a retired electrician from the Ohio Valley Electric Company. He was a United States Navy Veteran. His memberships included: Grace United Methodist Church, Grace Church Men's Fellowship Group, Morning Dawn Lodge #7, York Rite, Knights Templar, Addin Temple Shrine, Gallipolis Shrine Club, and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by Wife: Agnes Clendenin Board, who married March 27, 1955 in Gallipolis; 2 Daughters: Brenda Myers and Melinda (Joe) Foster both of Gallipolis; 6 Grandchildren: Megan, Mandy, and Morgan Foster, Halee and Stephen Myers, and Taylor Foster.; 1 Sister: Frakle Purdy of Roanoke, VA; 1 Uncle: Pete Snow of Baltimore; 1 Niece: Alicia (Russell) Wise of Virgina; 1 Nephew: Ricky (Joan) Purdy) of Virginia; 2 Special Friends: Iva Myers and Malena Phillips.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 29, 2004 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Bob Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-8 P.M. Masonic services will be conducted by Morning Down Lodge at 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations. Pallbearers will be: Don Shilling, Jerry Myers, Rick Purdy, Phil Pope, Gene Wood and Bob Foster; Honorary Pallbearers will be: Roger Barron, Lew Roush, Guy Guinther, Jim Roush, Gordon Fisher, and Robert Polcyn. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
