Ruth Marie Ruddlesden Miller, age 91, of Gallipolis, died Saturday August 28, 2004 at Holzer Medical Center. Born May 10, 1913 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late William and Nettie Rose Ruddlesden. Ruth was raised by a grandmother Mary Elizabeth Rose. In addition to her parents and grandmother, she was preceded by her husband, Foster Lee Miller; by three sons: Ivan, Allen, and David Miller; by two brothers: Raymond and Charles Pidock and by one sister: Opal Coleman.
Ruth retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center where she worked as a LPN. Earlier in career she worked at the Holzer Hospital. She attended The Good News Baptist Church and was active member of the Gallia Gounty Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by 5 Children: Doris Copley of Gallipolis, Larry Miller of Gallipolis, Judy Owens of Indiana, Roger Miller of Columbus, and Brenda Whitaker of Florida; 12 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; and 1 Brother: Wayne Pidock of Columbus.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Jane Ann Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Reynolds Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 P.M. on Monday, August 30, 2004. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
