Mabel G. Adkins, age 96, of Cheshire, died Monday morning October 4, 2004 at her residence. Born February 25, 1908 in Alkol, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Allen and Nettie Martin Price. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Elmer Adkins, who she married on November 10, 1923 and who preceded her on October 10, 1969; 2 Sons: William Henson Adkins and Eugene Hillard Adkins; 3 Grandchildren: Eugene Adkins, Glenn H. Adkins Jr., and Stephanie Fillinger. Also preceding her are 5 Brothers and 4 Sisters. She was a homemaker.
Mabel is survived by: Son: Glenn Harold (Shirley) Adkins of Gallipolis; Daughter: Elnora Bostic of Gallipolis; 12 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; and 5 Great Great Grandchildren; Sister: Anna Hazel Price Reader of Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday October 7, 2004 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Unroe officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation. Pallbearers will be: Nelson Bostic Jr., A.J. Fillinger, Brian Adins, Ronald Adkins, Brett Saxon, and Shawn Johnson. Honorary Pallbeaers will be: Ernest Saxon and Mark 'Short' Curnutte.
