Olive Puckett Mays, age 73, of Gallipolis, 'Went to be with the Lord' on Sunday October 17, 2004 at her residence. Born January 19, 1931 in Clintwood, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Swindall and Julia Davis Swindall. In addition to her mother she is survived by 3 Children: Pamela (Leonard) Johnson of Arizona, Richard (Coleen) Puckett of Michigan, and Robert (Jennifer) Puckett of Michigan; 3 Grandchildren: Ricky, Adel, and Gracie Puckett; 2 Sisters: Hazel Carico of Gallipolis, and Joella Nelson of Arizona; 2 Brothers: Curtis Swindall of Gallipolis and Clyde G. Swindall of Michigan. Olive was a nurse anesthetist.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 20, 2004 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Rev. Scott Michler officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to services. Pallbearers wil be: Kermit Fisher, Danny Swindall, Greg Swindall, Buddy Fleming, Clyde G. Swindall, and Dave Crabtree. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to either Holzer Hospice or to the Holzer Cancer Center, 100 Jackson Pike Gallipolis, Ohio 45631.
