Jesse White Jr., age 79, of Gallipolis, 'Went to be with the Lord' on Thursday October 28, 2004 at Scenic Hills Nursing Center. Born March 2, 1925 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Nellie Newland White Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded by 2 Children: Donna Kay Mumpower, and Tammy Louise McCarty, and by 6 Brothers, and 6 Sisters.
Jesse retired from the Federal Mogul Corporation in 1989. He was also a former employee of the Gallipolis Developmental Center, and a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by: Wife: Louise Johnson White; 7 Children: Barbara (John) Bowen of Scottown, Jessie Lynn McCarty of Scottown, David (Sandy) White of Crown City, Mike (Linda) McCarty of Vinton, Keith McCarty of Gallipolis, Richard (Janet) McCarty of Xenia and Pamela (Ed) Smart of Albany; 13 Grandchildren; and 2 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday November 1, 2004 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastors Eugene Harmon and Robert Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-9 P.M. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the graveside by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations. The Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
