Rebecca 'Louise' Woda Willis, age 91, of Springfield, and formerly of Patriot, died Wednesday evening December 22, 2004 at the Masonic Home in Springfield. Born January 23, 1913 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late August Henry and Mary Emma Hunt Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Henry Elwin Willis who she married in 1927 and who preceded her in 1998 after 71 years of marriage.
Lousie is survived by 4 Children: Eugene Woda (Carol) Willis of Miamisburg, Mary Lou (Gene) Swick of Lafayette, Louisiana, James (Dee) Willis of Xenia, and Joe (Anne) Willis of Louisville, KY; 11 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
After rearing her family, Louise pursued a career at the Gallipolis State Institute, following several years of service, she retired to her beloved house in Patriot, where she enjoyed gardening and baking her delicuious hot rolls for her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday January 3, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Robert Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
