Charles Richard "John" Phillips, age 64 of Gallipolis, died Sunday morning January 30, 2005 at Holzer Senior Care. Born February 21, 1940 in the Bladen Community, Gallia County, he was the son of the late Lew and Mary V. Mooney Phillips. In addition to his parents he was preceded by 1 Brother: Paul Phillips; 2 Sisters: Bonnie and Carol Phillips; and by 1 Great Grandchild.
John worked as a telephone lineman.
He is survived by 4 Children: Teresa (David) Bush of Gallipolis, Charles Richard (Lynne) Phillips Jr. of Richland, IN, Gregory Scott Phillips of Middleport, and Melissa D. Johnson of Gallipolis; 6 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren; 3 Brothers: Leslie (Rosemary) Phillips of Brunswick, OH, Roger (Susie) Phillips of Dallas, TX, and James Phillips of Wheelersburg; 5 Sisters: Lillian Sayre of Columbus, Glenna Cox of Racine, Norma (Gene) Angel of Gallipolis, Doris (Dale) Sheets, and Kathy Halley of Crown City; A Special Friend: Alice Cook of Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Tuesday February 1, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
