Ivan Aaron Sheets, age 80, of Gallipolis, died Monday February 21, 2005 at Holzer Medical Center. Born October 5, 1924 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Aaron Sheets and the late Violet Murray Sheets Haskins Evans. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a brother Robert Clayre and a sister in law Geraldine Sheets.
Ivan was a retired bus driver for the Gallipolis City Schools, and also worked as a construction worker. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II.
He is survived by his Wife: Nancy V. Murphy Sheets who he married on August 30, 1952; 5 Children: Michael Aaron (Carolyn) Sheets of Klamath Falls, OR, Donald Eugene (Brenda) Sheets of Rio Grande, Keith Allen Sheets of Gallipols, Violet Jean Sheets (Ronnie Vansickle) of Oak Hill, Paul Harold Sheets of Pt. Pleasant; 10 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday February 25, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family.
