Harold Floyd Hoke, age 69, of Gallipolis, died Wednesday morning May 11, 2005 at his residence. Born February 2, 1936 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Edward and Martha Hupe Hoke. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife Nancy J. Bean Hoke, by a sister Mildred Hoover, and by 3 brothers Virgil, Woodrow, and Kenneth Hoke.
Harold was a graduate of Capitol University, and formerly attended Seminary. He served in the United States Army for 4 years. He worked at City Loan for 27 years; he later worked for Central Trust Bank, Unity Savings Bank and finally Oak Hill Banks from which he retired. He was a member of New Life Lutheran Church, and served as a lay minister in the Gallipolis area. He was also a member of the Gideons.
He is survived by 2 Sons: Doug (Khris) Hoke of Newark and David Hoke (Close Friend, Stephanie Jones) of Zanesville; 1 Brother: Ralph Hoke (Close Friend, Marge) of Sterling Heights; 1 Sister: Carolyn Wilmoth of Greenville; 1 Sister in law: Ruby Hoke of Dayton; Special Friends: Roger, Stephanie, and Kristina Stover; Isabella and Jennifer Bonza; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday May 17, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home 810 Second Ave. Gallipolis with Pastor Ross Worch officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 6-9 P.M.
Pallbearers will be: Rick VanGundy, Bobby Marchi, James Johnston, Todd Fowler, Todd Nibert, Bill Richards, and Craig Mason.
