Betty Jane Thomas Meadows, age 83, of Gallipolis, died Thursday Mary 12, 2005 at her residence, following a long illness. Born February 20, 1922 in Charleston, WV she was the daughter of the late Albert Earl and Lelia E. Griffith Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Casby Meadows Jr., by a grandson Casby Meadows IV, and by 2 Brother in laws.
Betty was a retired bookkeeper from Empire Furniture Store and a homemaker. She was a caring mother and loving grandmother, and wife.
She is survived by 2 Sons and Daughter in laws: Casby 'Skip' (Karen) Meadows, and Thomas M. (Tina) Meadows of Gallipolis; 1 Grandson: Casby Mitchell Meadows of Pt. Pleasant; 1 Granddaughter: Emily Dawn Meadows of Gallipolis; 2 Sisters: Margaret T. Burdett of St. Petersburg, FL and Dottie T. Campbell of Pt. Pleasant; 1 Brother and Sister in law: A.E. 'Squeaky' (Mary Rodgers) Thomas of Atlanta, GA; 5 Step Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday May 16, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-9 P.M.
Pallbearers will be: Mitch Meadows, Jeff Smith, Jeff Campbell, Mike Beane, Bill Davis, and Brandon Pyles; Honorary Pallbearers: Forrest Clark, and Eddie Edelblute.
