William Lewis 'Willie' Jamison, Sr. age 73, of Gallipolis, went into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday morning June 14, 2005 at his residence. Born May 4, 1932 in Coalwood, West Virginia, he was the son of the late James and Etta Jamison. In addition to his parents he was preceded by two brothers, James and Edward Jamison, and by a sister in law Debra.
Willie graduated from Gallia Academy High School on May 25, 1950. Upon his graduation he enlistd in the United States Air Force and served from 1950 until 1953. He was employed by the Kyger Creek Power Plant in 1967 as a laborer, and retired as a yard supervisor in 1994. He was a member of Paint Creek Baptist Church, and the Ancient York Lodge #33.
He is survive by his Wife: Helen Henrietta Williams Jamison who he married on June 25, 1954. To this union was born six children: William L. (Tereasa) Jamison Jr., Bruce H. (Bonita) Jamison, Charles E. (Roberta) Jamison, Sue Ann (Larry) Winston, Lawrencene (Ricky) Miller, and Wanda L. Young Jamison; One Stepson: Robert (Florence) Williams, and a Stepdaughter: DeEtta Rice; 31 Grandchildren, and numerous Great Grandchildren; 5 Brothers: Rayfield (Irence) Jamison, Rayton (Devonna) Jamison, Jerry (Marsha) Jamison, Joseph (Sandra) Jamison, and Robert Jamison.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday June 17, 2005 at Paint Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 Second Ave. Gallipolis on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services. Masonic services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home by Ancient York Lodge #33. Military Funeral Honors will be presented the the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.
