Julia Marie Prose, age 80, of Gallipolis, died Thursday July7, 2005 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. Born March 29, 1925 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late David and Margaret Turner Pickens. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Earl Prose, by an infant daughter Margaret Prose, by 2 Sisters, Margaret Margolis, and Mary Ann Wood, by a brother Eugene Pickens.

Julia was a retired employee of the Gallipolis City Schools, and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

She is survived by: 3 Children: Susan (Mike) Adams of Marengo, Thomas (Jayne) Prose of Marengo, and Martha Slyman of Westeville; 10 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Sister: Louise 'Mickey' Johnson of Gallipolis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Monday July 11, 2005 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Monsignor William Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-8 P.M.
