John Q. Williamson, age 52, of Crown City, died Saturday August 6, 2005 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. Born September 8, 1952 in West Hamlin, WV he was the son of the late Leander and Anez Nelson Williamson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by 4 sisters: Ruthie Queen, Lola Pratts, Canzazy Adams, and Carrie Williamson, and by 1 brother: Russell Williamson.

John was an employee at Super Value in Milton, where he worked as the food inspector. John was also a United States Army Veteran, and a member of the Huntington Local Teamsters Union.

He is survived by Wife: Trish 'Pat' Spencer Williamson; Son: John Quincy Williamson Jr. 'JJ'; Daughter: Doris June Williamson 'DJ' both of West Hamlin; Granddaughter: Shelby Marie Williamson; 4 Step Grandchildren: Jacob, Nathan, Amanda Ehlers, and Melinda Brumfield; 2 Sisters: Mary E. Adams of Wayne, WV and Rachael Watts of West Hamlin; 2 Brothers: Leander Williamson of West Hamlin and Roby A. Williamson of East Lynn, WV; A Special Nephew: Alvis Queen Jr. of Gallipolis; Several other Nieces and Nephews; 4 Very Special Sister in laws: Darlene Dixon of Gallipolis, Janice (Roger) Scott of Bucyrus, Wanda Hager of Rio Grande, and Shirley (Danny) Palmer of Cheshire.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday August 11, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home 810 Second Ave. Gallipolis, with Elders Paul Thompson and Archie Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nick Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-9 P.M. Military funeral honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Frazier Sr., Bill Frazier Jr., Alvis Queen Jr., John Williamson Jr., Keith Sheets, Marks Hager, Mike Scott, Larry Taylor, Jason Williamson, Jackie Adams, Kyle Jaques, and Roger Watson.
