James Howard 'Jim' Roberts, age 61, of Gallipolis, died Thursday evening September 22, 2005 at his residence. Born January 3, 1944 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Virgil O. Roberts Sr. and the late Charlotte Sayre Roberts.
Jim was a retired auto mechanic. He was formerly a policeman with the Gallipolis Police Dept. and also served as a deputy with the Gallia County Sheriffs Dept. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam.
He is survived by is Son: Robert 'Rob' Roberts of Gallipolis; Grandson: Zachary Kyle Roberts; 3 Brothers: Virgil Roberts Jr. of Gallipolis, Paul (Anita) Roberts of Gallipolis, and Sandy Roberts of Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday September 27, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 P.M. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
