Darlene Gladys Carter, age 85, of Gallipolis, died Thursday morning November 10, 2005 at her residence. Born August 22, 1920 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Cora Ethel Erit Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Eugene William Carter who she married on November 26, 1943 and who preceded her on December 1, 2002.
Darlene worked at the Gallipolis Developmental Center as an attendant for many years. She was also a former employee of Holzer Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by: 2 Sons: Roger Dean (Barb) Carter of Gallipolis, Don (Karen) Carter of Gallipolis; 5 Grandchildren: Angela, Adam, Ryan, Kerry, and Annie Carter; 1 Great Grandchild: Jalen Carter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 13, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 Second Ave. Gallipolis, Ohio, with Pastor Alvis Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-8 P.M.
