Vera Darlene Ross, age 83, of Bidwell died Friday November 11, 2005 at Holzer Medical Center. Born October 19, 1922 in Bladen, Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Eunice A. Holley Davis. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Roy O. Ross who she married on September 7, 1940 and who preceded her on June 28, 1982. Also preceding her are a Son: Roy Roger Ross, a Daughter: Vera Jean Keefer, 4 Sisters: Mae Fields, Dorothy Liptak, Wanda Davis, and Lorene Sheets, and 4 Brothers: Elgin Davis, Mark Davis, James N.M. Davis, and Carl Davis.
Vera was a devoted Wife and Mother and volunteered at Holzer Medical Center for many years. She was a member of The First Baptist Church and attended French City Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Bethel Ladies Aid.
She is survived by Daughter: Barbara Denney of Bidwell; 6 Grandchildren: Patricia (Mike) Denney Allen of Columbus, James R. Denney of Bidwell, Kimberly McCabe of Las Vegas, NV, Roy K. (Melissa) Keefer II of Las Vegas, NV, Russell (Jennifer) Denney of Baltimore, OH, Mandy (Jeremy) Keefer Cox of Las Vegas, NV; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers: Richard (Juanita) Davis of Romillas, MI, and Randall (Carolyn) Davis of Middleport; 1 Sister: Linda (William) Chase of Richmond, VA.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday November 14, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burail will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday November 13, 2005 from 6-9 P.M.
